EcoVillas is part of a 4-hectare estate in Los Angeles de la Fortuna. Forty-five years ago, Dr. Jose María Calvo arrived in the area to begin his career as a doctor and fell in love with the nature and quality of life in La Fortuna and its surroundings.
After living in La Fortuna for 10 years, he decided to specialize in natural and alternative medicine. An opportunity arose to acquire a small estate for livestock and agriculture.
At this point, the doctor began the individual effort to reforest the estate using native and endangered species.
Many of the trees and shrubs in the project are of great relevance to animals such as macaws, sloths, anteaters, butterflies, and frogs. In order to create a sustainable model that allows for the maintenance of the estate and continues this vision of preservation, the EcoVillas Los Almendros project was born in 2019.
Thanks to EcoVillas Los Almendros and its support in the project, it is possible to continue our preservation and expansion efforts for the estate, as well as to maintain one of the few remaining natural lungs in the Los Angeles de La Fortuna area.
